Publicity & Education
Our chow chows regularly take part in events which educate the public about the Chow Chow.
Dogs on Safari - Parade
(walking the catwalk with Miss Earth Models)
Saturday June 8, 2013
(in aid of Pet Charities and Rescues)
On our way back from Pretoria, where we attended this function with two of our Chow Chows, the following song rang a bell in my mind: “Well, well, Hello Dolly...." no, but in this case it was Lola Lee!
We all know this familiar song out of the “Hello Dolly” movie. This song was sung to her by Louis Armstrong when she went back to her favorite Restaurant that she always loved so much.
Lola- Lee, Miss Chow Chow 2005/2006, after a long period of absence, went back to what she loves to do, be the centre of attention. This time she had her great grand daughter, Missy Tyra with her to show her the ropes.
Lola-Lee shared the stage with the models, and she was more relaxed than they were!!!! It was a great day for our breed and the girls made us very proud.
Missy Tyra was not very comfortable at times, but having Granny and us around very quickly settled her in and then she loved all the attention. And Missy Tyra did get lots of attention, as the majority of people attending have never seen a cream smooth Chow Chow before.
It was a great experience for us and the Chows; best of all is that the funds for the day would be donated to various animal charities.
The Chow Chow breed was part of 28 different breeds to be present on the stage.
