Our History with Chow Chows
We started out owning chow chows in 1992 when a little black bundle of fluff, named Suki-Yaki joined us as part of our family. For the past 23 years we have been totally in love with the breed. When 11-year-old Suki passed on in 2003, we were devastated, and decided that we could not be without a Chow Chow in our lives. In early 2004, our search for a new family member saw Lola-Lee join our family, this time as a KUSA registered Chow Chow. In time, after passing all her health tests so well, Lola-Lee was bred and we kept Kira, our beautiful red madam from that litter. |
In 2010, we had the opportunity to acquire a rare cream smooth granddaughter of Lola, representing some of our contribution during the 11 years of involvement in the KUSA registered ownership & responsible breeding of chow chows.
We kept Gen's cream smooth daughter, Missy Tyra, and so now we have the privilege of four generations of Fa-Ci Chow Chows form part of our family. We have always pursued charity work with Lola, now continuing with Gen and Missy Tyra, and occasionally they also attend breed shows. |
We currently live in an apartment complex (ours has a small garden) in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, South Africa. Our chow chows are part of our family and live in the house with us. As responsible owners, we take them out a few times each day for walks, also on outings, visits to friends and family and of course, on holidays/business travel where at all possible. |
During 2007 we had to spend 3 weeks at the Sani's Pass Hotel, but we would not accept the assignment unless the girls could come along! Special arrangements were made during which they also visited the sea & experienced the mountains! We both have been involved in the hospitality industry all our lives. The chow chows regularly get a small taster of the latest idea with dog biscuits & human delicacies! |
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our virtual home. Come again soon!
